From Vienna you rach Krems. a town more than 1000 years old. located at the beginning of the Wachau. Here you will board a sightseeing. boat (from  May until October) that brings you upstream through the romantic Danube valley to the medieval village of Drürnstein. High above this ancient town you will see the ruinsof an old castle. where the English King Richard “Lionheart” had been improsoned for serbal months in 1192 and 1193 Passing through lovely winegrower villages and along ruins of old castles you will reach the Benedictine Abbey of Melk, a unique master-piece of baroque style. On the way back to vienna you will pass by the romantic ruins of aggestein castle and can get an impressopn of how the Knights lived in the Middle-Ages. Then you will pass picturesque villages, steep wineyards and fruitful orchards and finally return to vienna
